Ø The National Informatics Centre (NIC) has introduced an app called Sandes.

Ø This app is instant messaging app similar to Whatsapp and it requires mobile number or an email id to get registered with the app.

Ø The app can be used by central and state government officials for intra-organisational and inter-organisational communication and now it is also available for public also.

Ø This app is a part of the government strategy to push the use of India-made software.
