People across the world spread the message of peace and love on this day. This day is celebrated to create awareness worldwide about the people who are suffering from poverty and their struggles. All people in this world need to support to overcome poverty to create a poverty-free world.

In the year 1992, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declared October 17 as the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

World Bank report 2020: Nearly 36% of the world's population is living in scarcity.

Also stated that an additional 88 million to 115 million people will fall into extreme poverty in 2020.
