 This assay is created based on detecting specific mutation which will

Available in omicron varient and absent in other currently circulating varient

Primer sets that targeted these distinctive mutations in S gene were designed for specific amplification of either Omicron variant or other variants of SARS-cov-2 and tested through real time PCR

By using  synthetic dna fragments newly developed test was optimized

Dynamic range of around 107  to less then 100 copies distinguishes wild type from omicron varient by optimized test

currently across the world omicron detected by next generation sequence based methods ,this  test requires  more then 3 days

This test is developed by iit delhi this kit posceses the efficiency to detect the presence of omicron in sample  with in 90mins  ,this rapid screening test helps to identify the virus in short span of time which prevents the spead as well helps to isolate the individual  to prevent further spread

IIT delhi filled the application for indian patent to take the test ,its in the process of initiating the talks with potential partners in industry
