Naval Commanders Summit 2024:
The first meeting of the
Naval Commanders Summit 2024 was inaugurated on 5 March 2024 with an
excellent presentation of the maritime capabilities of the Indian Navy. The
three-day event began with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh sailing to witness
the Navy's conduct of Operation Dual Carrier, targeting India's maritime
airborne highways, under the direction of the military. At the ceremony, the
combat capability of the aircraft carriers INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya was
exhibited.
In his opening remarks, Shri
Rajnath Singh praised the Indian Navy for its expanding capabilities in the
Indian Ocean region.He praised the Navy for its endeavors to foster peace and
prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region, aligning with the vision of Security and
Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR).
New Forum Created:
This year, the Naval
Commanders Summit was held in a hybrid format, providing a platform for
military leaders to evaluate maritime security-related strategies, operations
and management. The conference plays an important role in shaping the future of
the Indian Navy, especially in the face of changing geopolitical dynamics,
regional challenges and the fact that the situation at sea is no longer stable.
During the meeting, military
leaders are expected to discuss a number of important issues, including
challenges related to China's military expansion in the Indian Ocean and Houthi
forces' targeting of cargo ships in the Red Sea and neighboring regions.
Inter-Service Cooperation:
The Chief of Defense Staff, along
with the Commanders of the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force, will join the
Chiefs of Naval Staff on the sidelines of meetings to explore ways to enhance
the triad. To always cooperate and be prepared in the face of threats to
national security.
Anti-Piracy:
The Indian Navy has been praised
at home and abroad for its anti-piracy efforts in the Indo-Pacific region.
These efforts have contributed significantly to maritime security and defense
of India's homeland.
The Indian Navy continues to play a vital role in maintaining maritime security and preserving India's territorial integrity while fulfilling its international commitments. Its reliability and speed make it a reliable symbol of the Indo-Pacific region and showcase India's growth on the world stage.
