The Ministry of Communications, through the Communications
Center of Excellence (TCOE), has launched the "Sangam:
Digital Twins" project to transform management planning and execution.
The first event will be held on March 7, 2024 at the Indian Institute of
Technology Delhi with the theme "Connecting Innovation and Planning".
Opening Ceremony and Highlights: The event was opened
by Dr. Neeraj Mittal, Minister of Telecommunications Prof. Rangan Banerjee,
Dean, IIT Delhi. The importance of digital twins in innovation, encouraging
innovation and supporting informed decision-making is emphasized. Digital twins
tend to replicate physical assets, collect real-time data, and simulate
behavioral processes in order to increase efficiency and reduce potential costs
in construction projects.
Research topics of the presentation:
Transition from physical to virtual environment:
Industry leaders offer smart, intelligent solutions for geospatial and Building
Information Modeling (BIM).
Bringing life to the digital twin: Synergy of dynamic
data integration: The meeting discussed the integration of Nayan's
understanding of traffic data flow and telecommunications of Airtel India and
Reliance Jio to support different data for the Sangam project.
Introduction: Building the future with digital twins
and advanced technology: Microsoft introduces new data sharing solution using Advanced
Privacy Technology (PET). Meta and WhatsApp share insights into visual
technologies like AR/VR to drive innovation while protecting privacy.
The Future of Collaboration—Global: Dr. Javier,
Aingura IIOT Technology Manager, joined from Spain and presented a great
digital twin paper themed “International Collaboration: Introducing Digital
Twins and International Excellence”.
Importance of the initiative: The initiative
represents a revolution in infrastructure development and management, paving
the way for smarter and more resilient cities. As the industry embraces digital
transformation, ideas like Sangam look to foster greater connectivity and
future success by encouraging innovation and excellence.
Later: Sangam: Digital Twins Program invites Expression of Interest (EoI) from industry leaders, start-ups, MSMEs, education, innovation and people thinking about the future. Digital twin technology provides a solution that enables real-time monitoring, simulation and analysis by creating virtual copies of physical capabilities to enable repeatable testing and feedback to achieve good results.
